Congress is considering the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act which increases the federal allotment for school lunches by 3.8 billion dollars. While it is encouraging to see this kind of support for higher-quality food for our children at school, the Senate Agriculture Committee is seeking to do this by cutting the same amount of money from Environment and Food Stamp Programs. Please read about this issue carefully and consider signing the petition for the government to fund healthy school lunches without cutting other important programs for farming and anti-hunger efforts.
